Position: Commercial Sales Manager

Position Overview:

The Commercial Sales manager is responsible for performing and managing all commercial sales activities. The Sales Manager will have and meet individual customer acquisition and revenue growth targets.  They will maximize sales potential, craft sales plans, and present and justify plans to management.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

The following are duties and responsibilities of a Commercial Sales Manager that must performed, when applicable, and which may be modified or expanded by Company from time to time with reasonable advance notice to Employee:

 

  • Develop solar, battery energy storage and renewable energy asset management sales, or other project sales opportunities, to achieve the sales targets listed below and thereafter as set by Employee’s supervisor. Primary sales emphasis to be in California. Secondary sales emphasis in Arizona and Nevada.
  • Manage sales opportunities from inception through completion of construction.
  • Manage and assist the Company in the preparation of proposals, letters of work authorization and contracts.
  • Assist the Company with all financing requirements on behalf of the client.
  • Attend by phone or in person, weekly sales meetings.
  • Use Company provided CRM system to manage all business activities.
  • Prepare and present Company provided CRM system and self-generated reports regarding business activities and forecasts on not less than a monthly basis.
  • Perform all work on company provided or approved software and hardware.
  • Assist construction with client management throughout the construction process.
  • Look for repeatable footprint clients and or concepts.
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • Maintain proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word and project management tools (MS Project).

 

  • Maintain safety training related to installation of PV Power Systems and basic CPR and First Aid.
  • Politely, effectively and succinctly communicate with customers, vendors, agencies and co-workers.
  • Perform other general support duties as assigned by Employee’s supervisor.
  • Perform all work on company provided or approved software and hardware.
  • Comply with Company’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and all Company and OSHA safety requirements, policies and training, including the proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE), ladders and scaffolding.
  • Comply with all Company policiesand procedures as set forth in an Employee Handbook or otherwise published by Company from time to time.
  • Comply with the terms of the Employee Confidentiality, Non-Compete, And Invention Assignment Agreement executed by Employee.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in business management, environmental studies, or related program; or 2 years of sales and analysis experience in the renewable industry.
  • Excellent Word processing, writing, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Experience in the use of MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards.
  • Must be highly motivated, adaptable, flexible and able to work both in a team environment and independently.
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems encouraged.
  • Knowledge of PVSyst, Helioscope, and EnergyToolbase is a plus.
