Eric has deep experience in crafting new business models in solar as well as leading development of new products. Eric began his solar career with PowerLight Corporation where he served on the Board of Directors for 10 years before joining the firm to start PowerLight Europe, which he ran as General Manager. Eric has a highly successful track record of developing, financing and building large-scale projects, several times leading the development of the world’s largest solar parks. In sum, Eric is responsible for the installation of over 340 MW of worldwide renewable energy installations.
Eric’s creative approach has resulted in the development of powerful new business models now used throughout the industry. Eric wrote the business plan that forged the nexus between large-scale manufacturers with downstream developers. This fusion of capabilities and best-in-class skill sets is now the bedrock model for some of the most successful companies. In addition, Eric has led engineering and design to create and patent a wide range of industry leading products.
Eric’s leadership and management style focus on finding, developing and motivating talented teams to achieve the highest results. Eric has managed organizations with revenues of over $400MM by fusing diverse talents and skills into true synergistic effect.
Eric and his wife live in East Sacramento and have two adult sons. In his free time, Eric enjoys sailing, road biking, travel and reading. Eric graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics. He has also completed substantial coursework in Physics. Eric sits on the Board of Directors for Solar Cookers International (SCI). SCI is the leading advocate and implementer of solar cooking technology, training and deployment in many of the world's poorest countries, where solar cooking fundamentally changes entire families' lives for the better.
Brian has a very big toolbox and is responsible for the operations and implementation of all solar construction projects that Enable Energy undertakes. His experience makes him a perfect fit as Chief Operating Officer. With over 25 years of managing and coordinating people, Brian will undoubtedly ensure the utmost efficiency and productivity to every project he oversees.
Jack is a brilliant design engineer with 40 years experience and numerous patents and patents pending for solar modules, racking systems and electronics. He has worked extensively with solar, wind and bio fuels and has completed several large solar facility installations prior to joining Enable. Through years of work on complex projects, Ben has gained extensive experience in the unique tax ramifications of real estate, construction and renewable energy. As a board member of a renewable energy company, Ben’s expertise in the industry has been highly regarded.
In 1980, when the air traffic controllers went on strike, Ben retrained himself as a real estate specialist with an emphasis in manufacturing and infrastructure. He did a significant amount of research on electrical generation and distribution infrastructure in the Sacramento area and on construction and building systems. He invented several building systems which dramatically improved profitability for companies such as Sutter Home winery. In addition to Sutter Home, Ben built facilities for companies such as Toyota, Siemens, Mazda, Google, Sun Microsystems, Bank of America, Eaton and others. In his career, he has built almost one billion dollars worth of projects of all types.
Ben has taught numerous classes and lectured in facilities design for organizations such as the Warehousing Education and Research Council and the Society of Industrial Real Estate. He has significant experience in green energy and construction. He owned his own construction company for many years and was on the board of a renewable energy construction company. He has worked extensively with solar, wind and bio fuels and has completed several large solar facility installations prior to joining Enable. He also has experience in the unique tax ramifications of real estate, construction and renewable energy.
Ben received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Air Force Academy and a Masters from the University of Pittsburgh, both on full scholarships. During his schooling he also was an intern in the White House. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve for over twenty years, retiring in 1993 after serving in Desert Storm. He has been married to Gail for forty years and has two grown boys.
